ILLUSTRATIVE MATH: GRADE 6
Grade 6 is a year of exciting mathematics. Students study ratio and rate, learn to divide fractions by fractions, extend their understanding of arithmetic in base ten, expressions, equations, rational numbers, and make encounters in the world of data science. Critical thinking skills are practiced as students encounter mathematical projects requiring interpretation, representation, justification and explanation. The nine units that make up the 6th grade math curriculum are from the Illustrative Math sequence. Below is a sample of the first lesson from Unit 8: Data Sets and Distributions.
