THE FOURTH SACRED STONE OF THE BREASTPLATE OF JUDGEMENT IS EMERALD, REPRESENTING THE ISRAEL TRIBE OF JUDAH
"She conceived again and bore a son, and said, “This time I will praise the Lord”; therefore she called his name Judah; then she ceased bearing." - Genesis 29:35
God designated the Emerald gemstone to be placed fourth in the Breastplate of Judgement to represent Israel's tribe of Judah. Leah conceived Judah after much desperate prayer to God.
Leah, whose appearance was plain, was less loved by her husband Jacob, who preferred her beautiful sister Rachel. Never the less, her faith and trust in the Lord remained steadfast.
God looked with favor upon Leah, and not only answered her prayer to bear a son, but also declared him as the heir to Israel's long awaited messiah, through the line of David.
